Description

Botanists are biological scientists who study plants. Botany is broad and encompasses the study of more than three thousand species of plants ranging from ground hugging mosses to giant redwood trees. They also study how to use them to produce useful products such as medicines, food, improved breeds of useful plants, etc.

Biotechnology applies technological methods to biological systems and living organisms customize products and processes. Note that in some schools the department of Botany has been renamed as Plant Biology and Biotechnology.
