Computer science is the study of how data and instructions are processed, stored and communicated by computing device. It involves designing software and addressing fundamental scientific questions about the nature of computation and also involves many aspects of hardware and the architecture of large computer systems.
Computer scientists create the brains in our smartphones, they keep air plane from falling out of the sky, they help surgeons do a better job and they automate aspects of manufacturing, to name but a few.
There are sub-fields in computer science and they are; Computer graphics, Computer programming, Human-computer interaction and so on. Computer science is an interesting course and finds application in all sectors of endeavors.

A computer scientist can be self-employed as computer programmers, computer software engineers, computer support specialists, computer system analysts, graphic designers, web designers/developers and computer and information systems managers.
