Description

Soil science involves the study of the soil, classification, survey, conservation and management of the soil for crop and animal production, farm engineering and consultancy. Soil scientists gather information and give advice on the management and conservation of soil.

All Agriculture courses have five (5) years duration.

Subject Combination

English, Chemistry, Biology or Agricultural Science plus Mathematics or Physics

Employers

Soil scientists work with government agencies and as consultants on soil related issues in agriculture and other sectors. Some soil scientists are typically employed in a university, civil service, environmental consultancies, commercial and industrial organization and they can start a business in agriculture (farming) same industry base on their training and education.
